another day, another protest

Yesterday there was another Tea Party rally featuring many violent signs "kill the bill" "slaughter health care" etc (as my friend Shannon pointed out to me as she got caught in it accidentally the right wing tend towards violent vocabulary in their protests), today immigrants are gathering on the Capitol to support some bill that's been stalled for a long time and is now finally being voted on. I didn't know this rally was happening until about 10,000 members of the Latino community marched by my apartment (just now!). They had first gathered in Columbia Heights, just north of me and were walking to the Mall from there (quite a walk). Of course they are running a tad late since according to the Washington Post, the rally was to start half an hour ago...
